Do you know what impetigo is?
It is a highly contagious skin infection that occurs mainly in children between the ages of 2 and 5.
However, it can affect anyone, spreading rapidly within families and at school. Impetigo most often appears on exposed areas of skin, such as the face (around the nose and mouth) and hands. Children with the disease cannot go to school until the problem is cured.
Watch out for symptoms: red, painful, and itchy skin, swollen glands, and, although less common, fever or malaise.
