Have you heard of the vagus nerve?

The vagus nerve is part of the autonomic nervous system—which controls involuntary bodily functions—and is one of many nerves that transmit messages between the brain and other parts of the body, such as the heart and digestive system.
Have you heard of the vagus nerve?

One condition that can affect the vagus nerve is syncope (fainting) or vasovagal crisis, which occurs when the vagus nerve, which is connected to the heart, overreacts to certain situations, such as extreme heat, anxiety, stress, hunger, or pain. This type of fainting is the result of a sudden drop in blood pressure or heart rate, causing a feeling of dizziness or fainting.
