Do you know what Bell's Palsy is?
Also known as facial nerve paralysis, it consists of the temporary inability to move one side of the face.
The side of the affected nerve “drops”, causing a one-sided, asymmetrical smile and difficulty closing the eye. In most cases, this is a temporary condition, but its treatment is most effective when started within 72 hours of the onset of symptoms.
Call an emergency medical service immediately if you notice:
• an asymmetrical face, drooping on one side (mouth or eye)
• difficulty speaking and slurred speech
