The Speech Therapist is the professional responsible for the prevention, assessment, diagnosis, treatment and scientific study of human communication and related disorders at the level of speech and language as well as changes related to functions auditory, visual, cognitive (including apprenticeship), oro-muscular, breathing, swallowing and voice. In this context, communication encompasses all functions related to the understanding and expression of oral and written language, as well as all appropriate forms of nonverbal communication.
