Mammography is the breast exam for the prevention of breast cancer and is also a diagnostic method. The mammography exam is obtained through an apparatus called a mammograph, which emits small doses of x-ray. The purpose of this examination is to detect early breast cancer when it is not yet palpable by the medical examination or self-examination by the woman.
