In a low-risk pregnancy, according to the Directorate General of Health and the Technical Commission of Ultrasound, 3 ultrasound examinations should be performed:
Obstetric Ultrasound of the first Trimester
Second Trimester Obstetric Ultrasound
Third Trimester Obstetric Ultrasound
An ultrasound may be done prior to the tests to determine the time of pregnancy.
